Girl Power!

The girls are doing great! They had their 2 month check-up on Friday. Vanessa weighs 7 lbs. 11 oz and Val is at 7 lbs. and 14 oz. Almost 8 pounds, yay! They are really starting to fill out. About 2 days ago they were really fussy after I laid them down. I decided to lay them on their backs... the crying stopped! So now they like tummy time. Of course tummy time is only when I'm watching them. But they sleep really well that way.

Memorial Day Weekend

This week sure went by quick with Ryan on vacation! We tried to have fun and managed to get a few things done around the house in between the girls' feeding and keeping up with Zac! A few things we did: I met with the Director of the nursing program at Avila and I only need to take 5 more prerequisite classes before I can apply for their nursing program. They only admit 50 students each year. However, the director thought I had a great chance with my GPA and having already received my BSBA at Avila. I wish I would have known what I wanted to be "when I grow up". Better late than never, right? We rented "Taken" with Liam Nesson (my choice) and Paul Blart: Mall Cop starring Kevin James (of course Ryan's pick!). We enjoyed both movies. Redbox is the only way to go! Saturday we dropped the kiddos off at Grandma B's house and bought some trees to landscape the house. That's the only negative about buying a new house. Sunday we planted the trees with Zac's help of course! Afterwards we went to Mimi Donna's for hamburgers and hot dogs. Monday we had our second round of burgers at Grandma Linda's. The picture with Zac "drinking" the Pepsi, don't worry- it was Ryan's empty can. Zac thinks he's a big boy by doing what we do. He was hot, so we took his shirt off and put sunscreen on! He also like wearing our shoes. He's likes wearing my sandals :)

Wednesday we had our first family of 5 pictures taken professionally at Target. I had a coupon so we were able to get a lot of different poses. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they turned out. I figured Zac wouldn't cooperate, but luckily he did! He's getting so big! Vanessa had her eyes open while Val slept the entire time. Oh well- it's an easy way to tell them apart!

Vacation and Visitors

Ryan's been on vacation this week, yay! Not too much of a vacation for him though- getting up in the middle of the night to feed the girls! It will be a LONG time before we go on a real vacation! I've actually gotten 8 hours of sleep. Although it hasn't felt like it because I still wake up when the girls cry. It's been hard to go out and do things during the day because of Zac's nap time and the girls' feeding schedule. Oh well. It's nice having Ryan's help. The girls have been making it longer in between feedings, sometimes 4 and 5 hours. I cannot wait until they sleep through the night! We've had a few visitors. My friend Melissa came to see us last Thursday. The dogs and kids love her! Alice, Keng, and Lexi came by on Saturday to meet the girls. Lexi is only 1 month older than Zac, but he's a lot bigger! The 2 of them had fun together- especially Zac- he ate all of Lexi's snacks!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is my 2nd Mother's Day! Last Mother's Day if someone would have told me one year later I would have 2 more kids, I would have laughed! I am now the mother of 3 healthy, beautiful children (and dogs). I feel truly blessed. Life is great! Saturday we went to Grandma Linda's to celebrate Mother's Day and Ryan's 32nd birthday. Grandpa Mike grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Uncle James came home from MU for the weekend. Sunday we had brunch at Aunt Carrie's. Ryan and the kids gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers along with sweet Mother's Day cards. After brunch Mom and I took Zac to the Indpendence Center and walked around. Zac did pretty well considering he didn't have a nap! He had fun as I pushed him around in the stroller. He said "hi" to everyone! Grandma Beth bought him 2 pairs of cute flip-flop sandals. I didn't know if he'd like them, but he does!

What a week it's been: Monday- Mandi picked up Zac and he had a blast playing with Hannah all day. Plus it gave me a break :) He says "Hannah" it's so cute! Tuesday- I had all 3 kids and Pebbles with me in my car. We were taking Pebbs to Petsmart to get groomed. A van cut me off on I-70 and I swerved, hit the concrete barriers.. my car is totaled (the frame shifted about 5 inches). Thank goodness we're all OK. The girls slept through the entire ordeal and Zac was such a good boy. Wednesday- Mom and I took the girls to the doctor- they are off the apnea monitors!! We are all so glad about that. Those stupid things were more of a hassle than anything. Thursday- Ryan got off work early and we went to the insurance company and had to sign some paperwork. It takes so long to load everyone in the car! Friday- Aunt Carrie picked up Zac and he played with Cate all day. Another playdate, yay! I cleaned the house (Saturday is my normal cleaning day), of course it didn't take Zac long to mess it up!
