Time for an Update!
Wow! It's been a little while since I've added any posts. I guess working, taking 2 online classes, and having 3 kids keeps me busy!! Well since my last post, Ryan and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary!! It was on July 14th 2004 that we were "mauied" on the beach in Maui, HI. Absolutely beautiful. We can't wait until the kids are older and take a family vacation there. We celebrated last weekend. We dropped the kiddos off at Grandma Beth's and went to the grocery store- which is our normal Saturday routine. Then we went to dinner and a movie. May not be exciting to some, but when you have 3 kids under the age of 2, it was wonderful!! I never thought in 5 years of marriage, we'd have 3 beautiful children who are everything to us. Life is full of surprises!
Let's see what else has gone on... I'm finished my online classes last week and am on a 3 week break until fall semester starts. It's been wonderful not having to do homework on the weekends! Oh and Ryan shaved Freddie and Zac's hair!! Freddie needed to get shaved and Ryan took it upon himself to do it. He's shaved him before, but he also shaved around his face, including his beard! Poor Freddie!
Ryan shaved Zac on our anniversary. He got off work that day and decided to "clean-up" Zac's hair. Zac did have an appointment next weekend for a cut. Not sure what happened but this is the end result. When Ryan called me on the phone from my way home from work, I thought he was trying to get me mad on our anniversary. Nope when I walked in the door this is what I saw:

Back at Work and My Handsome Son
4th of July 2009
We celebrated the 4th of July at my in-laws. We enjoyed chicken kabobs with rice, pasta salad, yummy red velvet cake, and Boston cream pie. We were deciding on whether or not to take Zac to see fireworks. We decided not to because by the time it gets dark enough, it's past his bedtime. Also we have to schedule everything around the girls' feeding schedule. So after we got home we sat on our front porch and watched fireworks for a bit. When the fireworks would go off, Zac would say "Pop! Pop!" It was adorable.

Party, Date Night, & Father's Day!
Wow- we had an eventful weekend (which is unusual for us nowadays!). Friday night my family celebrated Mimi Donna's 60th birthday at Tim's Pizza. Her actual birthday is the 24th. Her big surprise was that Rich, Jenn, and Maddy flew in from Texas for the weekend! She had no idea. We were happy to see them!
Everyone was excited to see the girls. This time we decided to make name tags for them! We get tired of having to say "who's who" at big family functions! They worked! We got to eat in peace :)
Saturday my friend Melissa and I went to lunch at El Maguey. Lindsey and Leann were supposed to join us, but had things come up at the last minute. I brought the girls with me (Ryan and Zac had father-son day). Melissa and I ran to a few other places after lunch. The girls stole the show! Every place we want, everyone commented on the twins. Oh, and I left the camera with Ryan because he promised he'd take pictures of Zac- they went to Missouri Town and saw the buffalo. I knew he'd forget the camera.. and he did! I was wanting to bring it- besides Tim's Pizza, El Maguey was the 1st time I'd taken the girls inside a restaurant (when we eat out, it's either drive-through or we pick it up and bring it back home!). They had their 1st trip to the mall (Independence Center). That was the most the girls and I had been out in a long time!! Afterwards, Melissa watched the kiddos. For Ryan's Father's Day present I took him to the movies and we say "The Hangover." We both enjoyed it. The last time we went to the movies was after Christmas when we saw Seven Pounds (I got an AMC giftcard, haha!).
Ryan reading the Rocky Father's Day card Zac got him- it played Rocky music when you opened it! Last year was Ryan's 1st Father's Day with Zac, just one year later on his 2nd Father's Day, he's celebrating the day with 3 kids!! Who would have guessed?!
The kids in their Hawaiian outfits- Val's in green.
